Role Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Hatchery Manager to oversee the operations of our hatchery facilities. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring optimal hatch rates, managing incubation processes, and leading a team dedicated to producing high-quality hatchlings in alignment with our sustainability and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily hatchery operations, including egg handling, incubation, hatching, and chick processing to ensure efficiency and compliance with quality standards.
- Monitor and maintain optimal environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, ventilation) in incubation rooms to maximize hatchability.
- Implement and oversee biosecurity measures to prevent disease outbreaks and ensure the health of all hatchlings.
- Develop and maintain hatchery production records, analyzing data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Lead, train, and develop hatchery staff, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the breeding and genetics teams to align hatchery operations with production goals.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards, participating in audits and inspections as required.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in hatchery management or a related field, with a strong understanding of incubation technology and best practices.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience managing teams in a production environment.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions to improve hatchery performance.
Preferred:
- Experience with advanced incubation technologies and environmental control systems.
