Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Aquaculture Worker to join our innovative team focused on sustainable fish farming and aquatic resource management. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily operations involved in the breeding, rearing, and harvesting of aquatic organisms, ensuring that all processes meet industry standards for quality and sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Monitor water quality, temperature, and other environmental conditions to maintain optimal living conditions for aquatic species.
- Implement breeding programs, including spawning, egg collection, and incubation procedures.
- Feed and care for fish and other aquatic organisms, tracking their health and growth progress.
- Conduct regular inspections of tanks, ponds, and other facilities to identify and address any issues related to health, nutrition, or habitat.
- Assist in the harvesting and processing of aquatic organisms, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels, feeding schedules, and health assessments to inform management decisions.
- Participate in the development and implementation of sustainable aquaculture practices.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certification in aquaculture or a related field is a plus.
- Experience working in aquaculture, fisheries, or marine biology.
- Basic understanding of aquatic ecosystems and species management.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Post-secondary education in aquaculture, marine biology, or environmental science.
- Experience with aquaculture systems, including recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) or pond culture.
- Knowledge of sustainable farming practices and fish health management.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Familiarity with water quality testing equipment and techniques.
- Experience with aquaculture software for monitoring and data management.
- Knowledge of feeding systems and automated monitoring technologies.

- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a remote environment.
