Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Director of School Psychology Services to lead our comprehensive mental health initiatives within the educational environment. This key leadership role is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of psychological services that support student well-being, academic success, and overall mental health across our schools.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate district-wide psychological services programs that promote mental health awareness and intervention strategies.
- Lead and supervise a team of school psychologists, ensuring adherence to best practices in assessment, intervention, and counseling.
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and community stakeholders to create an inclusive and supportive educational environment.
- Design and deliver professional development and training for school staff on mental health issues, crisis intervention, and student support strategies.
- Provide direct psychological services to students, including assessments, individual and group counseling, and crisis intervention.
- Monitor and manage compliance with state and federal regulations regarding student mental health services.
- Analyze data and produce reports to assess the effectiveness of mental health programs and inform decision-making.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Doctoral degree in psychology (Psy.D. or Ph.D.) with a focus on school psychology or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in school psychology, including supervisory or leadership roles.
- Valid state certification or license as a school psychologist.
- Strong knowledge of psychological assessment, intervention methodologies, and mental health legislation.
Preferred:
- Experience in program development and evaluation within an educational setting.
- Background in trauma-informed practices and culturally responsive interventions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead interdisciplinary teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in psychological assessment tools and techniques.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting software to evaluate program effectiveness.
- Familiarity with mental health resources and referral systems within the community.
