Role Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled School Social Worker to join our dedicated team in providing essential support to students, families, and the school community. In this fully remote role, you will implement interventions and programs that promote students' emotional, social, and academic well-being, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify students' needs and develop tailored intervention plans.
- Provide individual and group counseling services to students dealing with emotional, behavioral, and social challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to facilitate communication and support student success.
- Develop and implement programs addressing issues such as bullying, mental health, and social skills development.
- Advocate for students and families to access community resources and support services.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in school social work.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
- Active state licensure as a School Social Worker or equivalent credential.
- Strong understanding of child development, mental health issues, and social service systems.
- Experience working with diverse populations and an understanding of cultural competency.
Preferred:
- 2+ years of experience in a school setting or working with children and families.
- Familiarity with multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) and response to intervention (RTI) frameworks.
- Demonstrated skills in crisis intervention and conflict resolution.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in electronic case management systems and virtual counseling platforms.
- Ability to leverage technology for remote communication and intervention.
- Knowledge of data collection and analysis methods for program evaluation.
