Role Overview
We are seeking a Trainee Educational Psychologist to join our team, where you will be integral in supporting children and young people in their educational settings. You will work closely with experienced psychologists to develop your skills in assessment, intervention, and consultation, contributing positively to the mental health and wellbeing of students.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the assessment of children and young people, gathering information from various sources including parents, teachers, and the students themselves
- Participate in the development and implementation of effective intervention strategies that promote learning and emotional wellbeing
- Engage in consultations with educators and parents to provide guidance on best practices for supporting students with diverse needs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support holistic approaches to student development
- Document findings and maintain accurate records of assessments and interventions in accordance with professional standards
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Completed relevant undergraduate degree in psychology or related field
- Demonstrated interest in educational psychology and working with children and young people
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred:
- Experience working with children in educational or clinical settings
- Knowledge of educational frameworks and psychological theories
- Familiarity with assessment tools and techniques used in educational psychology
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Understanding of psychological assessment methods
- Ability to utilize data-driven approaches to inform interventions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant educational software
