Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Recreation Manager to lead our innovative recreation programs and initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing a diverse range of recreational activities that promote community engagement, wellness, and lifelong learning.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive recreation programs that cater to diverse community needs and interests
- Manage budgets, resources, and staff to ensure effective program delivery and high-quality services
- Evaluate program effectiveness through feedback and data analysis, making adjustments as necessary to enhance participant satisfaction
- Collaborate with local agencies, organizations, and community members to foster partnerships and expand program reach
- Lead and mentor a team of recreation professionals, promoting professional development and a culture of excellence
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in recreation management
- Organize and facilitate special events, workshops, and community outreach initiatives
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Sports Administration, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in recreation program development and management
- Proven leadership skills with experience in team management and staff development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse populations
Preferred:
- Master's degree in a related field
- Experience with budget management and fundraising initiatives
- Familiarity with community engagement strategies and partnership development
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in recreation management software and data analysis tools
- Experience with program evaluation methods and community needs assessments
- Knowledge of marketing strategies and digital platforms to promote recreation programs
