Role Overview
We are looking for an Assistant Recreation Coordinator to join our dynamic team, responsible for supporting the planning, organization, and implementation of recreational programs and events. This role will play a crucial part in enhancing community engagement and promoting healthy lifestyles through diverse recreational activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and execution of recreational programs and events that meet the needs and interests of the community
- Collaborate with the Recreation Coordinator to develop schedules, budgets, and marketing strategies for programs
- Engage with community members to gather feedback and assess program effectiveness
- Coordinate logistics, including facilities, equipment, and supplies for recreational activities
- Support the recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers and program staff
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations during all recreational activities
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Associate's degree in Recreation Management, Sports Administration, or a related field
- 1+ years of experience in recreational program coordination or a similar role
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse community members
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management or a related field
- Experience working with community organizations and stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and recreational program management software
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Familiarity with event planning software and tools for program management
- Understanding of health and safety regulations related to recreational activities
- Basic knowledge of marketing principles to promote recreational programs
