Role Overview
We are seeking a Chief Power Engineer to lead our engineering team in the design, implementation, and optimization of power systems within our organization. This pivotal role involves overseeing large-scale projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving innovations that align with our mission to deliver sustainable energy solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering team in the development of power generation, transmission, and distribution systems
- Oversee the design and execution of complex engineering projects while ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to inform project development and resource allocation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and improve existing systems
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of power engineering
- Prepare and present detailed reports and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience in power engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record in managing large-scale power projects from concept through execution
- Strong knowledge of power system design, operation, and maintenance
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
Preferred:
- Experience with renewable energy systems, including solar and wind technologies
- Familiarity with smart grid technologies and energy storage solutions
- Strong project management skills, including proficiency with project management tools and methodologies
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E, or similar)
- Proficiency in CAD and other engineering design tools
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and standards for power systems
