Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Power Distribution Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in the design and implementation of innovative power distribution solutions. This role will focus on enhancing the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our power distribution systems while fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers in the development and execution of power distribution projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
- Oversee the design, modeling, and analysis of power distribution systems, utilizing simulation tools to optimize performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate power distribution solutions with renewable energy sources and smart grid technologies.
- Develop and implement strategies for system upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting of existing power distribution infrastructure.
- Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards in all engineering practices.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in power distribution engineering, with a track record of successful project management.
- Strong knowledge of power system analysis, load flow studies, and fault analysis.
- Experience with relevant engineering software tools such as ETAP, PSS/E, or similar.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing engineering teams.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with smart grid technologies and renewable energy integration.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and standards such as IEEE, ANSI, and NESC.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in power distribution systems design, including substations, feeders, and protective relaying.
- Proficiency in power system modeling and simulation software.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex power distribution issues.
