Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Perioperative Services to lead our surgical services department in a fully remote capacity. In this critical role, you will oversee the strategic direction and operational management of our perioperative services, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, operational efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive perioperative services strategy aligned with organizational goals and patient needs
- Drive initiatives to enhance patient care quality, safety, and satisfaction within the surgical services domain
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to proactively adapt strategies and practices
Operational Management:
- Oversee daily operations of perioperative services, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care
- Implement and manage performance metrics to evaluate departmental effectiveness and efficiency
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize surgical throughput and resource utilization
Financial Stewardship:
- Manage departmental budgets, ensuring financial performance aligns with organizational objectives
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and revenue enhancement while maintaining quality standards
Team Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of surgical staff and administrators
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the department
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in perioperative services management or surgical services leadership
- Strong knowledge of regulatory standards, accreditation processes, and best practices in perioperative care
Preferred:
- Certification in Perioperative Nursing (CNOR) or similar credential
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and perioperative management software
- Proven track record of successful change management in healthcare settings
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- In-depth understanding of perioperative care processes and surgical workflows
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting to inform decision-making
- Familiarity with financial management principles in a healthcare context
