Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and compassionate Director of Nursing (Obstetrics) to lead our obstetrics nursing team in delivering exceptional patient care and driving clinical excellence. In this pivotal role, you will oversee nursing operations, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and implement evidence-based practices to enhance maternal health outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse nursing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure high-quality obstetric care aligned with industry standards.
- Monitor and analyze patient care metrics, initiating interventions to improve quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and enhance care pathways, ensuring optimal patient experiences and outcomes.
- Oversee compliance with all relevant regulations and accreditation standards, maintaining documentation and reporting as required.
- Drive initiatives for staff education, professional development, and continuing education to maintain a skilled and knowledgeable workforce.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Nursing or related field.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with national certification in obstetrics or maternal-newborn nursing.
- 5+ years of nursing leadership experience, specifically in obstetrics or maternal health.
- Strong knowledge of nursing regulations, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical best practices.
Preferred:
- Experience in a fully remote leadership position, managing teams across multiple locations.
- Demonstrated experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and data analytics to drive clinical decisions.
- Certification in Nurse Executive (NE-BC) or related leadership credential.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in utilizing EHR systems and telehealth platforms to enhance patient care delivery.
- Knowledge of data analytics tools to track patient outcomes and nursing performance.
- Experience in developing and implementing clinical protocols and pathways.
