Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Payroll Manager to oversee and enhance our payroll processes. This role will be instrumental in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll, while also leading initiatives to improve efficiency and compliance within our payroll operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process, including payroll processing, tax reporting, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees, including salary, bonuses, and deductions
- Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and compliance
- Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data management and resolve payroll-related discrepancies
- Lead payroll audits and prepare reports for internal stakeholders
- Stay up-to-date with payroll legislation and industry best practices to ensure compliance
- Supervise and mentor payroll staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in payroll management, preferably in a corporate environment
- Strong knowledge of payroll software and systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar)
- Expertise in payroll regulations and compliance
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification
- Experience with HRIS systems and integrations
- Proven track record in process improvement and project management
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in payroll software, HRIS systems, and Microsoft Excel
- Experience with financial reporting tools and data analysis
- Understanding of tax regulations and compliance requirements
