Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Director of Payroll to lead our payroll operations and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. In this role, you will oversee the entire payroll process, driving efficiencies and implementing best practices while managing a dedicated team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payroll delivery for all employees
- Design, implement, and enhance payroll policies and procedures to foster operational efficiency and compliance
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to support compensation planning, reporting, and auditing processes
- Oversee payroll system upgrades and integrations, ensuring seamless functionality and data accuracy
- Monitor legal and regulatory changes related to payroll and implement necessary adjustments
- Develop and deliver training programs for payroll staff and other stakeholders to improve payroll knowledge and compliance
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for payroll processes to drive continuous improvement
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 8+ years of experience in payroll management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Comprehensive knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance requirements at federal, state, and local levels
- Proficiency in payroll software and systems; experience with [specific software, e.g., ADP, Paychex] is preferred
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions
Preferred:
- Experience in a multi-state or international payroll environment
- Certification in payroll management (e.g., CPP or FPC)

Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in payroll processing and compliance within various systems
