Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Orthopaedic Physician Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for providing expert orthopedic care, leading clinical initiatives, and mentoring a team of physician assistants and other healthcare professionals. Your contributions will directly impact patient outcomes and enhance our service delivery in a fully remote capacity.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee clinical care for orthopedic patients, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of practice
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including taking medical histories and performing physical examinations
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with orthopedic surgeons and healthcare teams
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, including patient education and follow-up
- Mentor and train physician assistants and other staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
- Participate in the development and refinement of clinical protocols and guidelines
- Utilize telehealth technologies to conduct virtual consultations and follow-ups with patients
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a related field
- Current NCCPA certification and state licensure as a Physician Assistant
- 5+ years of clinical experience in orthopedic practice, including experience in a leadership role
- Strong diagnostic skills and a thorough understanding of orthopedic conditions and treatments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with patients and team members
Preferred:
- Experience in a remote healthcare setting
- Advanced certifications in orthopedic medicine or related specialties
- Proven experience in developing and leading clinical initiatives
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms
- Ability to utilize clinical decision support tools and technologies for enhanced patient care
- Familiarity with orthopedic surgical procedures and postoperative care protocols
