Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated Junior Orthopedic Physician Assistant to join our dynamic orthopedic team. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting the delivery of high-quality orthopedic care to patients. You will work closely with experienced orthopedic surgeons, assisting in both clinical and surgical settings while gaining invaluable hands-on experience in the field.
Responsibilities
- Assist orthopedic surgeons in the clinic and during surgical procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and providing optimal patient care.
- Conduct patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations, to inform treatment plans.
- Prepare and assist in orthopedic surgeries, including setting up instruments, providing surgical assistance, and ensuring patient safety.
- Educate patients regarding their conditions, treatment options, and post-operative care.
- Document patient interactions and treatment plans accurately in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and improve care processes.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Basic knowledge of orthopedic procedures and patient care standards.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred:
- Prior clinical experience in an orthopedic setting, internship, or related coursework.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems and documentation standards.
