Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Orthopedic Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your expertise in orthopedic nursing to enhance patient care, provide clinical leadership, and develop best practices that drive exceptional outcomes for our patients undergoing orthopedic procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced clinical assessment and diagnosis for patients with orthopedic conditions, ensuring evidence-based treatment plans are implemented.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including surgeons and physical therapists, to develop and execute comprehensive care plans.
- Lead and mentor nursing staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and clinical excellence.
- Conduct clinical research and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance orthopedic care delivery.
- Educate patients and families on orthopedic conditions, treatment options, and post-operative care to empower informed decision-making.
- Develop and implement protocols and clinical guidelines to improve patient outcomes and streamline processes.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Nursing or related field.
- Current RN license and certification as an Orthopedic Clinical Nurse Specialist.
- 5+ years of clinical experience in orthopedic nursing, with a proven track record of excellence in patient care.
- Strong knowledge of orthopedic procedures, postoperative care, and pain management strategies.
Preferred:
- Experience in a leadership or educational role within a healthcare setting.
- Certification in a relevant specialty (e.g., Orthopedic Nurse Certified, Clinical Nurse Leader).
- Demonstrated ability to engage in clinical research and publish findings.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and clinical documentation.
- Familiarity with orthopedic surgical techniques and postoperative protocols.
- Experience with telehealth platforms for patient consultations and follow-up.
