Role Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner to join our team. In this fully remote role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care, managing orthopedic conditions, and collaborating closely with orthopedic surgeons and healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history taking and physical examinations, to evaluate orthopedic conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the orthopedic team.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the scope of practice, including joint injections and splinting.
- Educate patients and their families about orthopedic conditions, treatment options, and rehabilitation protocols.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary based on clinical findings and patient feedback.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
- Participate in telehealth consultations and follow-up appointments to ensure continuity of care.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Nursing with a focus on Family or Adult-Gerontology.
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in the relevant state.
- A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in orthopedic nursing or a related field.
- Certification as an Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner (ONP-C) is highly desirable.
- Strong assessment, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with patients and interdisciplinary teams.
Preferred:
- Experience with telehealth platforms and remote patient management.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Additional certifications in pain management or rehabilitation are a plus.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in using telehealth technology and EMR systems.
- Ability to interpret diagnostic imaging and lab results relevant to orthopedic care.
- Familiarity with current orthopedic treatment protocols and best practices.
