Responsibilities

- Collaborate closely with optometrists to discuss patient care and assist in formulating treatment plans
- Train new staff on procedures, equipment usage, and best practices in patient care

- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience as an optometric technician, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Certification as an Optometric Technician (COT) or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of ocular anatomy and common optometric procedures
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and patient management software
Preferred:
- Experience with optical dispensing and patient education regarding eyewear options
- Background in customer service or healthcare administration
- Additional certifications in specialized optometric areas
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining diagnostic equipment such as autorefractors, tonometers, and visual field machines
- Experience with telehealth platforms and remote patient monitoring technologies
- Familiarity with coding and billing procedures for optometric services
