Responsibilities

- Assist optometrists during examinations, performing preliminary tests, and documenting patient information accurately in electronic health records.
- Oversee inventory management, ensuring adequate supplies of eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other optometric materials.
- Implement and maintain protocols for patient safety, compliance with health regulations, and quality assurance measures.
- Continuously evaluate the patient experience, providing feedback and implementing improvements to enhance service delivery.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 2+ years of experience as an optometry assistant, with a strong understanding of optometric procedures and practices.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient interaction.
Preferred:
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and practice management software.
- Certification or training in optometric assisting or related fields.
- Knowledge of optical products and services, including eyewear fitting and adjustments.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in using EHR systems and practice management software.
- Familiarity with optical equipment, including autorefractors, tonometers, and visual field instruments.
- Understanding of basic troubleshooting techniques for optical devices.
