Role Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Lead Optometric Assistant to join our team in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the operational efficiency of our optometric practice. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to lead a team of optometric assistants, ensuring seamless patient experiences while fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the optometric assistant team, ensuring high standards of patient care and service delivery.
- Train and mentor team members on best practices in patient interaction, clinical procedures, and administrative tasks.
- Collaborate with optometrists to optimize patient flow and enhance the efficiency of clinical operations.
- Manage patient scheduling, ensuring timely appointments and minimal wait times.
- Assist in the development and implementation of protocols for patient care and office procedures.
- Conduct quality assurance checks and provide feedback to team members to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and practice guidelines.
- Handle patient inquiries and concerns, resolving issues promptly and effectively.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 2+ years of experience as an optometric assistant or in a similar healthcare role.
- Strong knowledge of optometric procedures, terminology, and patient care protocols.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and team members.
Preferred:
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Certification as a Certified Optometric Assistant (COA) or equivalent.
- Familiarity with optical products and services.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in using EHR software and other patient management systems.
- Ability to navigate and utilize optical diagnostic equipment.
- Experience with telehealth platforms is a plus.
