Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Nuclear Cardiology Technologist to join our innovative healthcare team. In this role, you will assist in performing nuclear cardiology procedures that help in diagnosing and treating various heart conditions. This position is crucial in providing quality patient care and ensuring the accuracy of diagnostic imaging.
Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting nuclear stress tests, myocardial perfusion imaging, and other related procedures under the supervision of a certified technologist.
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to discuss patient history and determine appropriate imaging techniques.
- Maintain accurate records of procedures and patient data, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Help in the maintenance and calibration of imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Participate in quality assurance activities to enhance department efficiency and patient safety.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Associate's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related field.
- Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of nuclear cardiology principles and imaging techniques.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Preferred:
- Experience in a clinical setting, particularly in nuclear cardiology.
- Proficiency in patient care and management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and the healthcare team.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Familiarity with gamma cameras and other nuclear imaging equipment.
- Understanding of radiation safety protocols and patient care techniques.
