Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Echocardiology Technologist to lead our echocardiography department, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and diagnostic quality. In this role, you will leverage your extensive experience in echocardiography to oversee clinical operations, implement best practices, and mentor a team of technologists, driving innovation in non-invasive cardiac imaging.
Responsibilities
- Lead the echocardiography department, managing day-to-day operations to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
- Develop and implement departmental protocols and standard operating procedures for echocardiographic studies.
- Oversee the training and development of echocardiography technologists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and imaging processes.
- Conduct advanced echocardiographic studies, including transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Maintain and troubleshoot echocardiography equipment, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and quality assurance protocols.
- Analyze echocardiographic data and assist in the interpretation of results, providing clinical support to the healthcare team.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification with a minimum of 5 years of experience in echocardiography.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing a team of echocardiography technologists.
- Comprehensive understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and echocardiographic techniques.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex echocardiographic data.
Preferred:
- Advanced cardiac imaging certifications (e.g., ASCeXAM, CCI) and experience in a supervisory role.
- Experience with cardiac ultrasound research and/or clinical trials.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and imaging software.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in echocardiographic modalities including Doppler, 3D echocardiography, and strain imaging.
- Proficient in using echocardiography equipment from leading manufacturers (e.g., GE, Philips, Siemens).
- Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control processes in echocardiography.
