Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Nuclear Medical Technologist to join our innovative healthcare team. This position is crucial for assisting in the preparation and administration of radiopharmaceuticals, as well as conducting nuclear medicine procedures under the supervision of senior technologists and physicians.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols and safety guidelines
- Assist in performing nuclear medicine imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality imaging for accurate diagnosis
- Maintain and operate nuclear medicine equipment, including gamma cameras and PET scanners
- Assist in patient preparation and education, ensuring comfort and understanding of procedures
- Collaborate with senior technologists and physicians to optimize imaging protocols and workflows
- Document and maintain accurate records of procedures, patient information, and radiopharmaceutical usage
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related field
- Registered or eligible for registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
- Basic knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures, radiopharmaceuticals, and safety standards
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members
Preferred Qualifications
- Clinical internship or hands-on experience in a nuclear medicine setting
- Familiarity with imaging software and electronic medical record systems
- Basic understanding of radiation safety and regulatory guidelines
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Knowledge of nuclear medicine imaging techniques including SPECT and PET
- Proficiency in operating imaging equipment and software
- Understanding of radiopharmaceutical handling and safety protocols
