Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Nuclear Medicine to lead our innovative nuclear medicine department. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing all nuclear medicine operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and advancing our research initiatives. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to implement cutting-edge diagnostic and therapeutic techniques while driving continuous improvement in clinical practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the nuclear medicine department, including staff development, training, and performance evaluations.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance departmental services, patient outcomes, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements while maintaining the highest quality of patient care.
- Oversee the integration of advanced imaging technologies and radiopharmaceuticals into clinical practice.
- Collaborate with radiologists, oncologists, and other specialists to optimize patient management and treatment plans.
- Conduct and promote clinical research projects aimed at advancing the field of nuclear medicine.
- Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and financial performance to ensure sustainability and growth.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- MD or DO degree with board certification in Nuclear Medicine or a related specialty.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in nuclear medicine, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated expertise in PET/CT and SPECT imaging technologies.
- Strong understanding of radiopharmaceuticals, their clinical applications, and safety protocols.
- Proven track record in academic or clinical research, with publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Preferred:
- Fellowship training in Nuclear Medicine or a related subspecialty.
- Experience with quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
- Prior involvement in regulatory compliance and accreditation processes.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Advanced knowledge of nuclear imaging systems, including SPECT, PET, and gamma cameras.
- Familiarity with radiopharmaceutical production and handling practices.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and radiology information systems (RIS).
