Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Nuclear Medicine Technologist to lead our nuclear medicine department. In this pivotal role, you will oversee and manage all aspects of nuclear medicine operations, ensuring compliance with health regulations and maintaining the highest standards of patient care. You will be instrumental in developing protocols, optimizing workflows, and leading a team of skilled technologists in delivering exceptional diagnostic imaging services.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all nuclear medicine procedures, ensuring adherence to established protocols and safety regulations.
- Design and implement departmental policies and procedures to optimize workflow and enhance patient care.
- Manage departmental budgets, equipment procurement, and maintenance schedules to ensure operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to interpret imaging results and contribute to patient diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Conduct training and development programs for technologists to ensure continual professional growth and adherence to best practices.
- Stay current with advancements in nuclear medicine technology and integrate new methodologies into practice.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master’s degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related field.
- Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) and a valid state license.
- 10+ years of experience in nuclear medicine, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures, radiation safety, and imaging technologies.
Preferred:
- Experience in research and development of new nuclear medicine techniques.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and quality assurance in a clinical setting.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and PACS software.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in SPECT, PET imaging, and radiopharmaceuticals.
- Proficient in managing imaging equipment and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting diagnostic images and data.
