Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Naval Engineering Manager to lead our innovative engineering team in the design, development, and integration of advanced naval systems. This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background and proven leadership skills to drive the engineering efforts that will shape the future of our naval capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the design, development, testing, and delivery of naval engineering projects, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and customer requirements.
- Develop and implement engineering strategies that align with company objectives and drive operational excellence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including program management, systems engineering, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless integration of systems and processes.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, providing regular updates to executive leadership on progress and challenges.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with engineering projects, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in naval engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex naval systems projects within budget and on schedule.
- Strong knowledge of naval design principles, systems integration, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience with advanced naval technologies, including autonomous systems, integrated combat systems, or propulsion systems.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep expertise in naval system design, modeling, and simulation tools.
- Proficient in project management software and engineering design tools, such as CAD and CAM.
- Experience with software development processes and agile methodologies.
