Role Overview
We are searching for a highly skilled and motivated Marine Equipment Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in the design, development, and optimization of advanced marine equipment systems. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that we maintain our commitment to safety, efficiency, and innovation in the marine industry while fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management:
- Oversee the engineering team, providing mentorship and guidance to foster professional growth and high-performance standards.
- Define and implement engineering best practices, performance metrics, and project management methodologies to ensure timely delivery of high-quality marine equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and quality assurance, to align on project goals and execution strategies.
Project Oversight:
- Lead the end-to-end engineering process for marine equipment projects, from concept through to production, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively, addressing risks and challenges proactively.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide regular updates, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
Innovation and Development:
- Drive the research and development of cutting-edge marine technologies, ensuring our products are competitive and compliant with evolving industry standards.
- Evaluate new materials, components, and technologies that can enhance the performance and efficiency of marine equipment.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovative solutions to engineering challenges.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in marine equipment design and engineering, with a proven track record of managing complex projects.
- Strong knowledge of marine safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- Experience leading diverse engineering teams in a remote work environment.
- Familiarity with CAD software and simulation tools.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in marine equipment design and analysis, including structural, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in using engineering software tools, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
- Understanding of marine propulsion systems, HVAC, and power generation technologies.
