Role Overview
We are actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Metal Fabrication Supervisor to lead our remote fabrication team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the entire metal fabrication process, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency are met. You will be instrumental in driving operational excellence while fostering a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all metal fabrication activities, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance productivity and quality in the fabrication process
- Mentor and train team members on best practices in metal fabrication, welding techniques, and safety protocols
- Conduct regular quality control inspections, troubleshooting issues, and implementing corrective actions as necessary
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to ensure accurate interpretation of drawings and specifications
- Manage inventory levels and procurement of materials to support fabrication operations
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with industry safety standards and regulations
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in metal fabrication, with a proven track record in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of metalworking techniques, welding processes, and fabrication methodologies
- Experience with CAD software and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team
Preferred:
- Experience in implementing lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 9001 and AWS D1.1
- Certification in welding or metal fabrication techniques
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for fabrication design
- Strong understanding of materials and their properties, including metals and alloys
- Knowledge of CNC programming and operation
