Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Steel Fabrication Supervisor to lead our fabrication team in ensuring high-quality manufacturing processes. In this role, you will oversee the production of steel components, ensuring adherence to safety standards, quality control measures, and project timelines while fostering a culture of excellence within the team.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations in the steel fabrication shop, ensuring efficient workflow and optimal resource allocation.
- Implement and monitor quality control processes to meet or exceed industry standards and client specifications.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of fabricators, welders, and technicians, promoting a safe and collaborative work environment.
- Coordinate with project managers and engineers to ensure alignment on project requirements, deadlines, and budget constraints.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions to uphold rigorous safety protocols and procedures.
- Analyze production data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and ensure that all machinery is functioning correctly and safely.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in steel fabrication, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, welding techniques, and industry standards.
- Proven track record of managing teams and leading projects to successful completion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse teams.
Preferred:
- Experience with CAD software and familiarity with design specifications.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with fabrication tools and equipment, including CNC machines, welding machines, and hand tools.
- Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations in the fabrication industry.
