Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Welding Inspector to ensure the integrity and quality of our welding processes. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting inspections, performing assessments, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining our commitment to quality and safety in all our operations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of welded joints and materials to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications
- Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, and engineering drawings related to welding processes
- Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, including ultrasonic, magnetic particle, and dye penetrant testing
- Document inspection results and prepare detailed reports on findings, including any necessary corrective actions
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address quality issues and implement solutions
- Stay updated on industry standards and best practices for welding inspection
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in welding inspection or related fields, with a strong understanding of welding processes and techniques
- Certification from a recognized welding inspection body (e.g., AWS CWI, CSWIP)
- Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment, along with knowledge of NDT methods
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Preferred:
- Experience in a manufacturing or construction environment
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards, such as AWS, ASME, or API
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Experience with quality management systems and inspection documentation
