Role Overview
We are looking for a passionate and creative Junior Landscape Designer to join our dynamic design team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate on a variety of projects, contributing fresh ideas and innovative design solutions that enhance outdoor spaces. Your work will involve using design software to support senior designers in creating stunning landscapes that align with our clients' vision and sustainability goals.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of design concepts for various projects, including residential, commercial, and public spaces
- Utilize design software such as AutoCAD and SketchUp to create detailed design plans and visual representations
- Conduct site assessments to gather data on existing conditions, including soil, climate, and topography
- Collaborate with senior designers to refine design ideas and integrate feedback into project plans
- Participate in client meetings to discuss project progress and present design concepts
- Research plants, materials, and sustainable practices to inform project designs
- Support project management efforts by maintaining timelines and budgets
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Environmental Design, or a related field
- Basic proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong understanding of landscape design principles and environmental sustainability
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred:
- Internship or practical experience in landscape design or architecture
- Knowledge of plant species and horticulture
- Experience with GIS and other environmental analysis tools
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp for design and visualization
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite for presentation materials
- Understanding of sustainable design practices and materials
