Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and visionary Head of Labor Training and Development to lead our initiatives in workforce education and skill enhancement. In this pivotal role, you will architect comprehensive training programs that align with our organizational goals and foster a culture of continuous learning across all levels of the workforce.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement a robust training and development strategy that supports the growth of employees and addresses skill gaps across the organization.
- Lead a team of training professionals, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure the successful delivery of programs and initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess training needs and develop customized curricula that aligns with business objectives.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through metrics and feedback, making data-driven adjustments as necessary.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in workforce training and development to ensure our programs remain cutting-edge.
- Foster partnerships with external training providers and educational institutions to enhance our training capabilities.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in training and development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful training programs in a corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate a diverse workforce.
Preferred:
- Experience in labor relations or workforce development within a unionized environment.
- Advanced degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning platforms.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in instructional design tools and methodologies, including e-learning authoring software.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools to assess training effectiveness and ROI.
- Familiarity with project management software to oversee training initiatives.
