Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Labor Relations to lead our organization's labor relations strategy and initiatives. This role is critical in fostering a collaborative relationship between management and employees while ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations. You will be instrumental in negotiating collective bargaining agreements and addressing employee grievances to maintain a harmonious work environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement labor relations strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives
- Lead collective bargaining negotiations with labor unions, ensuring favorable outcomes for the company
- Advise senior leadership on labor relations matters, including compliance with labor laws and regulations
- Manage and resolve employee grievances and disputes, fostering a positive workplace culture

- Conduct training sessions for management on labor relations best practices and conflict resolution
- Monitor industry trends and labor relations developments to inform strategic decision-making
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in labor relations, human resources, or a related field
- Proven track record of successful collective bargaining negotiations
- Deep understanding of labor laws and regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred:
- Experience in a leadership role within a unionized environment
- Advanced degree in labor relations, human resources, or a related field
- Certification from a recognized labor relations organization
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Familiarity with labor relations management software and tools
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting
- Knowledge of HRIS systems and employee engagement platforms
