Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and experienced VP of Industrial Relations to lead our organization in navigating complex labor relations environments. This role will be pivotal in fostering a collaborative culture between management and labor while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and driving organizational effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic industrial relations policies that align with organizational objectives and labor laws.
- Lead negotiations with labor unions, ensuring fair and equitable agreements that promote a positive working environment.
- Advise senior leadership on labor relations strategy, providing insights on trends and best practices in the field.
- Manage and resolve disputes and grievances, serving as a mediator between management and labor representatives.
- Conduct training sessions for management on labor relations issues, including negotiation techniques and conflict resolution.
- Collaborate with HR and other departments to foster a culture of open communication and mutual respect.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in industrial relations, labor relations, or a related field, with a proven track record of successful negotiations.
- In-depth knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Experience in a leadership role within a large organization, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Advanced degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in using HRIS systems and labor relations management software.
- Ability to analyze labor market trends and data to inform strategic decision-making.
