Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Vice President of Labor Relations to drive our organization's labor relations strategy and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee labor negotiations, manage relationships with unions, and establish a collaborative work environment that aligns with our corporate objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of labor relations strategies that align with the overall business objectives of the organization.
- Direct all negotiations with labor unions, including collective bargaining agreements and dispute resolution processes.
- Act as the primary liaison between management and labor representatives, fostering a culture of open communication and collaboration.
- Monitor labor relations trends, analyze collective bargaining agreements, and provide guidance to executive leadership on labor issues.
- Implement training programs for management on labor relations best practices and compliance with labor laws.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with labor unions, ensuring that employee concerns are addressed in a timely and effective manner.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in labor relations or human resources, with a proven track record in negotiating collective bargaining agreements.
- Strong understanding of labor laws and regulations, including NLRB processes and state-specific labor regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with labor unions and internal stakeholders.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex issues effectively.
Preferred:
- Advanced degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a related field.
- Experience managing labor relations in a large, multi-state organization.
- Proficiency in conflict resolution and mediation techniques.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in labor relations management software and tools.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools to monitor labor relations trends.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and compliance tracking software.

- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage a diverse range of stakeholders.
