Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Hydrographic Engineer to join our innovative team. In this role, you will support the development and execution of hydrographic surveys, utilizing cutting-edge technology and methodologies to collect, analyze, and interpret data related to water bodies. Your contributions will be vital in informing projects that enhance marine navigation, environmental protection, and resource management.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and execution of hydrographic surveys, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
- Operate various hydrographic survey equipment, including echosounders, GPS systems, and data acquisition software.
- Collect, process, and analyze hydrographic data to create detailed maps and reports.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to support project objectives and deliverables.
- Participate in fieldwork, including data collection in marine and freshwater environments.
- Maintain equipment and ensure proper calibration and functionality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hydrographic Engineering, Geomatics, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Familiarity with hydrographic survey techniques and equipment.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in data analysis software and GIS tools.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship or project experience related to hydrographic surveying or marine studies.
- Experience with CAD software and 3D modeling.
- Understanding of marine regulations and environmental impact assessments.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Ability to operate hydrographic survey instruments effectively.
- Familiarity with data processing software such as CARIS or HYPACK.
- Knowledge of geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing technologies.
