Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Hydroelectric Plant Supervisor to oversee the operations and maintenance of our hydroelectric facilities. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and safe generation of renewable energy, contributing significantly to our sustainability goals. You will lead a team of engineers and technicians, implementing best practices in plant operations while fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day operations of the hydroelectric plant, ensuring compliance with regulatory and environmental standards.
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of engineers and technicians, promoting a proactive and safety-oriented work environment.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and operational procedures to optimize plant performance and reliability.
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments of plant equipment, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance production efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Prepare detailed reports on plant operations, performance metrics, and compliance issues for management review.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes affecting hydroelectric operations.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in hydroelectric plant operations or a similar role, with a proven track record of successful team leadership.
- Strong knowledge of hydroelectric systems, renewable energy technologies, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience with SCADA systems and advanced monitoring technologies.
- Certification in Project Management or Six Sigma methodologies.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep understanding of hydroelectric power generation, distribution systems, and mechanical/electrical engineering principles.
- Proficient in data analysis tools and software for performance monitoring.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance standards related to hydroelectric operations.
