Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Hydroelectric Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and operational integrity of our hydroelectric facilities. This role will focus on ensuring the reliability and efficiency of renewable energy production through strategic maintenance planning, team leadership, and adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
Maintenance Oversight:
- Manage and supervise maintenance staff in the inspection, repair, and overhaul of hydroelectric generating equipment and associated systems
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure optimal plant performance
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of equipment condition, identifying areas for improvement and prioritizing maintenance activities
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and train maintenance technicians, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Coordinate with operations and engineering teams to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption to production
- Manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and environmental standards relevant to hydroelectric operations
- Prepare and maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation for regulatory compliance and internal audits
- Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis to drive safety improvements and operational excellence
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in maintenance management, specifically within hydroelectric or similar energy sectors
- Strong knowledge of hydroelectric systems, including turbines, generators, and electrical systems
- Proven track record of managing maintenance teams and executing maintenance strategies in a high-stakes environment
- Solid understanding of safety regulations and best practices in energy production
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with predictive maintenance technologies and methodologies
- Relevant certifications in hydroelectric operations or maintenance management (e.g., PMP, CMRP)
- Familiarity with SCADA systems and computer-based maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Background in renewable energy projects and sustainability initiatives
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in mechanical and electrical maintenance of hydroelectric equipment
- Proficiency in data analysis tools for maintenance optimization
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and related control technologies
