Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and compassionate Director of Hospice Nursing to lead our dedicated team in providing exceptional end-of-life care to patients and their families. This role is pivotal in ensuring our nursing staff deliver high-quality, patient-centered services while fostering a supportive environment that upholds the dignity and comfort of our patients.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the clinical operations of hospice nursing services, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in patient care.
- Develop and implement nursing policies and protocols that enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff, providing guidance in complex clinical situations and fostering professional development.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create comprehensive care plans tailored to the unique needs of each patient.
- Monitor and evaluate patient care practices, utilizing data to drive quality improvement initiatives and ensure optimal patient experiences.
- Act as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers to facilitate effective communication and address any concerns or needs.
- Participate in community outreach and education initiatives to promote hospice services and the importance of end-of-life care.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Nursing or a related field.
- Current RN license in good standing with at least 5 years of nursing experience, including 3 years in a leadership role within hospice or palliative care.
- Strong understanding of hospice regulations and standards of care.
- Proven ability to develop and implement clinical policies and quality improvement programs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to patient-centered care.
Preferred:
- Certification in Hospice and Palliative Nursing (CHPN).
- Experience in budget management and resource allocation in a healthcare setting.
- Previous experience in a remote leadership capacity.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare management software.
- Familiarity with telehealth technologies to support remote patient care.
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting clinical data and driving decision-making.
