Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Horse Exerciser to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the training and exercise regimens of our equine athletes, ensuring their physical well-being and readiness for competition. You will play a crucial role in developing individualized exercise plans that cater to the specific needs of each horse, fostering a culture of excellence and care within our organization.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement tailored exercise programs for a diverse range of horses, optimizing their physical conditioning and performance.
- Monitor and assess the health and fitness of each horse, making adjustments to training plans based on individual progress.
- Lead and mentor a team of exercisers, promoting best practices in horse care and exercise.
- Collaborate with veterinarians, trainers, and other staff to ensure comprehensive care for each horse.
- Maintain detailed records of exercise routines, health assessments, and performance metrics.
- Stay updated on the latest equine exercise science and methodologies to enhance training effectiveness.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in horse handling and exercise, preferably in a competitive setting.
- Deep understanding of equine anatomy, exercise physiology, and behavior.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective training programs tailored to individual horse needs.
- Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring junior staff.
Preferred:
- Experience with various equestrian disciplines such as dressage, jumping, or racing.
- Certification in equine management or a related field.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in using equine health and training management software.
- Experience with fitness tracking tools and methods to monitor horse performance.
