Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Barn Worker to join our team at [$COMPANY_NAME]. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the health and welfare of our livestock while ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the barn facilities. Responsibilities
- Perform daily feeding and watering of animals, ensuring they receive the proper nutrition and hydration
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the barn and surrounding areas, including mucking out stalls and disposing of waste appropriately
- Monitor the health and behavior of livestock, reporting any concerns to the farm manager or veterinarian
- Assist with milking, shearing, or other specialized tasks as required for specific types of livestock
- Support the breeding and care of animals, including monitoring pregnancies and caring for newborns
- Help with general farm maintenance tasks, such as repairing fences, maintaining equipment, and managing hay storage
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive work environment
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Experience working with livestock or in an agricultural setting is highly desirable
- Basic knowledge of animal husbandry and care practices
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions
Preferred:
- Familiarity with farm equipment and machinery
- Basic understanding of veterinary care and animal health management
- Experience in a team-oriented environment, demonstrating effective communication skills
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Ability to operate basic farm machinery, such as tractors and feeders
- Proficient in using tools for maintenance and repairs
