Role Overview
We are seeking a visionary Chief Health Information Officer (CHIO) to lead our organization's health information technology strategy and execution. You will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and optimization of health information systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, and driving improvements in patient care through innovative data management practices. This leadership role will require a strategic mindset and the ability to collaborate across clinical, operational, and technological domains.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the strategic vision for health information management and technology within the organization
- Lead the implementation of electronic health record (EHR) systems and other health information technologies to enhance clinical workflows
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and other relevant regulations while implementing best practices in data privacy and security
- Collaborate with clinical leadership to drive data-driven decision-making and improve patient outcomes through analytics and reporting
- Manage relationships with vendors and stakeholders to ensure the successful integration of technology solutions into clinical practice
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the health information management team
- Provide leadership and mentorship to health information management professionals, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressive experience in health information management or health IT leadership roles
- In-depth knowledge of clinical workflows, EHR systems, and health information exchange standards
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements
- Proven track record of leading large-scale technology initiatives in a healthcare setting
Preferred:
- Professional certifications such as Certified Health Informatics Systems Professional (CHISP) or Fellow of the American Health Information Management Association (FAHIMA)
- Experience with data analytics tools and methodologies to drive insights from health data
- Familiarity with telehealth technologies and their integration into health information systems
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in health information systems, including EHR, EMR, and health information exchange platforms
- Proficiency in data analytics tools and methodologies, including statistical analysis and visualization tools
- Strong understanding of interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, and CCD

Location
