Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Hatchery Manager to join our innovative team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in optimizing hatchery operations, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency in the incubation and hatching processes. You will work closely with the Hatchery Manager to implement best practices and contribute to our mission of producing healthy, high-quality livestock.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily hatchery operations, including incubation, hatching, and chick processing
- Monitor environmental conditions within incubation areas, ensuring optimal temperature, humidity, and airflow
- Implement and maintain biosecurity protocols to safeguard the health of hatchlings
- Collaborate with the Hatchery Manager to develop and refine operational procedures and protocols
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments of equipment and systems to ensure functionality and compliance with safety standards
- Train and supervise hatchery staff, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement
- Analyze production data and prepare reports to identify trends and improve efficiency
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in hatchery management or poultry production
- Strong understanding of incubation processes and hatchery operations
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions
Preferred:
- Experience with automated hatchery systems and equipment
- Knowledge of health management practices for poultry
- Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in hatchery management software and data tracking systems
- Understanding of environmental control systems for incubation
- Experience with quality control and assurance methodologies
