Role Overview

Responsibilities

- Monitor animal behavior and health, identifying and addressing any concerns that arise
- Collaborate with the Animal Husbandry Manager to train and mentor staff on best practices and procedures
- Maintain accurate records of animal health, breeding, and husbandry activities using established management systems
- Participate in the planning and execution of breeding programs, ensuring genetic diversity and health of stock
- Engage with veterinarians and nutritionists to develop health and nutrition plans tailored to the needs of the animals
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Technology, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in animal husbandry or a related role
- Strong understanding of animal behavior, welfare standards, and husbandry practices
- Excellent observational skills to assess animal health and behavior
Preferred:
- Experience in managing or supervising animal care staff
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance related to animal care and welfare
- Familiarity with breeding programs and genetic management
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies

- Experience with livestock management practices and technologies
- Basic understanding of animal nutrition and feed formulation
