Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Hatchery Operations to lead our hatchery division, ensuring operational excellence, maximizing production efficiency, and driving innovation in our processes. In this role, you will be pivotal in overseeing all aspects of hatchery operations, from incubation to delivery, while fostering a culture of safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize hatchery performance and production yields
- Oversee daily hatchery operations, ensuring adherence to quality control standards and biosecurity protocols
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of hatchery staff, promoting continuous improvement and professional growth
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including breeding, quality assurance, and logistics to align hatchery operations with broader company objectives
- Monitor and analyze production metrics, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions as necessary
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Drive innovation by researching and implementing new technologies and methodologies within hatchery operations
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in hatchery management or operations within the poultry industry
- Strong understanding of incubation processes, biosecurity protocols, and production management
- Proven track record of leading teams and driving operational improvements
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Experience with automation and data analytics in hatchery operations
- Knowledge of sustainable practices within poultry production
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
