Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Plating Manager to oversee our plating operations, ensuring high quality and efficiency in our manufacturing processes. In this pivotal leadership role, you will manage the plating team, optimize production workflows, and implement best practices to achieve operational excellence while maintaining strict adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the plating team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Develop and implement plating process controls and standards to ensure product quality and consistency
- Monitor production metrics, analyze performance data, and drive initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste
- Oversee compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards, conducting regular audits and training
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to troubleshoot plating issues and implement corrective actions
- Manage equipment maintenance schedules and coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime
- Prepare and manage budgets for the plating department, ensuring cost-effective operations
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in a plating or manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of plating processes, equipment, and safety standards
- Proven track record of managing teams and driving process improvements
Preferred:
- Experience with electroplating, anodizing, or other surface finishing techniques
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies
- Certifications in Quality Management or Process Improvement
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in plating technologies and equipment
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and quality assurance methodologies
- Familiarity with ERP systems and production scheduling software
