Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Metal Plating Supervisor to oversee our plating operations and ensure the highest quality standards are met. In this role, you will lead a team of skilled technicians while managing processes and equipment used in metal plating, ensuring efficiency and compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of the metal plating department, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards
- Lead and mentor a team of plating technicians, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Monitor plating processes, adjust parameters as necessary, and troubleshoot any issues to maintain optimal production levels
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of plating processes and equipment to ensure compliance with industry regulations
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols
- Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to optimize plating processes and enhance product quality
- Prepare reports on production metrics, including yields, wastage, and downtime, providing actionable insights for enhancements
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in metal plating operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of electroplating techniques and equipment
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams and drive productivity improvements
- Familiarity with quality control processes and industry regulations
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
Preferred:
- Experience with various plating methods such as anodizing, chromating, or electroforming
- Certification in plating or surface finishing processes
- Proficiency in data analysis software and production management tools
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep understanding of chemical processes involved in metal plating
- Experience with plating equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with environmental regulations related to plating operations
