Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Plating Supervisor to oversee our plating operations within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role is critical to ensuring the delivery of high-quality plated products while maintaining safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate plating operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of plating technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Monitor plating processes and equipment performance, implementing corrective actions as needed to optimize production
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of plating work to ensure compliance with regulatory and quality requirements
- Manage inventory levels of plating materials and chemicals, ensuring optimal stock levels to support production
- Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to troubleshoot and resolve plating-related issues
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols within the plating department
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in plating or surface finishing operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of plating processes, equipment, and quality control methods
- Proven leadership skills and experience managing a diverse team
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Preferred:
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in aerospace or automotive industries
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies
- Certifications related to plating or surface finishing processes
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in operating plating equipment and instrumentation, including electroplating and chemical processes
- Experience with process control systems and quality management software
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and waste management practices related to plating operations
