Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Group Home Manager to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the well-being and development of individuals in our care, supporting the Group Home Manager in daily operations, and fostering a positive living environment that encourages independence and personal growth.
Responsibilities
- Support the Group Home Manager in overseeing daily operations, including staff management, scheduling, and compliance with health and safety regulations
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans, ensuring that the needs and preferences of residents are met
- Supervise and mentor staff, providing training and guidance to enhance their skills in providing high-quality care
- Conduct regular assessments of residents' progress and well-being, making necessary adjustments to care plans as needed
- Facilitate communication between residents, families, and stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to care
- Participate in community outreach and engagement initiatives to foster strong relationships with local resources and support networks
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Associate's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred
- 2+ years of experience in a group home or residential care setting
- Strong understanding of individual care needs and the ability to develop personalized support plans
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and staff
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment
Preferred:
- Experience in a supervisory role within a group home or similar environment
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and best practices in residential care
- First Aid and CPR certification
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in electronic record-keeping systems and case management software
- Familiarity with behavior management and crisis intervention techniques
- Ability to utilize data to inform decision-making and improve care outcomes
