Role Overview
We are seeking a visionary Director of Geropsychology to lead our innovative team in delivering high-quality mental health services tailored to older adults. In this strategic role, you will oversee clinical programs, ensure evidence-based practices are integrated into service delivery, and contribute to the advancement of geropsychological research and training initiatives. Your leadership will be pivotal in enhancing the mental well-being of our aging population while supporting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance geropsychology services and address the mental health needs of older adults.
- Oversee clinical operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in geropsychology.
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, social workers, and support staff, fostering professional development and collaboration.
- Conduct and promote research initiatives that contribute to the field of geropsychology, disseminating findings through publications and presentations.
- Establish partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and academic institutions to enhance service accessibility and quality.
- Monitor program outcomes and implement quality improvement measures to ensure effective service delivery and client satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology with a specialization in Geropsychology.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in clinical practice, with at least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of mental health issues affecting older adults and evidence-based treatment modalities.
- Demonstrated experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation within a healthcare or clinical setting.
- Active licensure as a psychologist in the relevant state.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in telehealth service delivery and familiarity with digital health technologies.
- Publication record in geropsychology or related fields.
- Experience with grant writing and securing funding for research initiatives.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms.
- Knowledge of data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, R) for research and program evaluation.
