Role Overview
We are looking for an innovative and experienced Lead Gage Designer to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your expertise in precision engineering to design and develop sophisticated gaging solutions that meet the high standards of our diverse clientele. You will spearhead projects from concept through completion, ensuring that all designs align with industry standards and client specifications while fostering a collaborative and creative environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of high-precision gaging solutions, ensuring adherence to operational specifications and quality assurance standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and project management to develop innovative designs that meet customer requirements.
- Conduct thorough design reviews and feasibility studies, providing technical expertise to optimize design processes and product performance.
- Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Implement and maintain best practices in gage design, ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and technological advancements to continuously improve design methodologies and product offerings.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in gage design or precision engineering, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and tolerancing standards.
- Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) with a focus on 3D modeling and simulation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience with advanced gaging techniques and technologies.
- Proven leadership experience, with a track record of managing projects and leading teams effectively.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and ISO standards.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in CAD software for gage design and modeling.
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and measurement systems analysis (MSA).
- Experience with rapid prototyping technologies and materials.
- Familiarity with software tools for data analysis and visualization.
