Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Die Design Manager to lead our die design team in creating innovative and efficient tooling solutions. This role is integral to ensuring that our manufacturing processes are optimized for quality and productivity while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the die design team, providing guidance and mentorship to achieve high-quality design outputs.
- Oversee the design and development of dies, ensuring they meet product specifications and manufacturing capabilities.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to streamline processes and resolve design-related issues.
- Implement best practices in die design, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and sustainability.
- Conduct regular reviews of design projects to ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in die design technologies, integrating new methodologies as appropriate.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in die design and manufacturing processes.
- Proven experience in managing design teams and projects from concept through production.
- Strong knowledge of CAD software and die design principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with progressive die design and metal stamping processes.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Proficient in project management tools and techniques.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep expertise in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of die materials and their properties, along with tooling fabrication techniques.
- Experience with simulation software for die performance testing.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including stamping, machining, and assembly.
